A fantastic 50 off just 6 Overs by Sammy Holbrook put East Woodhay, two divisions higher, to the sword at Oakley Park last night.
There were many other rapid contributions throughout the Oakley batting line-up that took the score to a commanding 149-6 off of just 16 overs.
Defending the total, the Oaks were in fine form with the ball in hand with Dan Sumner taking 3-21 and Clive Welsman 2-3 as Woodhay wilted in the warm evening sunshine.
Callum Van Dyke and Steve ‘Bownie, Bowner’ Bown were also impressive as Woodhay ended well short of the the target, finishing on 105-7.
All in all it was a great evening for the Oaks in a competition that, availability depending, they can certainly go a long way in.
There may even be an opportunity to add a trophy to the bulging Oakley CC cabinet!!!
