After the hottest week of 2021, we have the storms arriving just in time to ruin the weekend’s cricket fixtures. The current percentage chance of disruption is running at 85%, so it is virtually impossible the second and third teams will play. The First XI, with good covers, have a small chance of playing, but it is also highly unlikely.
This is a shame as, as is always the case in the First XI when it rains, we have a strong team out. The line-up aided by the return of Mickey Wood, Stef Kaltner and Neil Robinson, along with a first knock in 2021 for Gerry Dique. Oh well.
It is also a shame for the Two’s, who were looking forward to building on a run of three successive wins. There are no covers at Rotherwick, so, although the fat lady isn’t singing just yet, she is clearing her throat. This one will be all over before it starts.
As for the Third XI…what a shocking year it has been for Dan. Cancellation after cancellation, has been the ongoing story, with Newfound open to the elements. This has left the team in a situation where it has been able to gain no momentum. Such a shame.
I’ll leave it there as I am a busy man today. Normally this wouldn’t stop me putting something more detailed together but when there is only a 15% chance of action, one cannot be arsed. The full list of who won’t be playing can be seen below.
