The Oaks into the penultimate weekend of the season tomorrow with just the 2 fixtures. Sadly, Aldershot couldn’t raise a team, so the 3s have to miss out.
Ones v Colden Common
The First XI, still slightly depleted, take on Colden Common, who sit comfortably n mid-table. The chances of promotion are still mathematically on, but The Oaks will need to be on it, especially if the dangerous Burrows brothers are in action for CCCC.
Nothing but a big win will do, so The Oaks have to go for it. Graeme Ridler, Harry Tucknott, Mike Bryant, and Nigel Bishop are all back in the side and George Lethaby keeps his place. Despite the missing players it still looks a decent side to me. The boys just need to be on it to keep up the pressure on other teams above them.
Twos at St Mary’s
The 9th placed Twos go into a titanic clash with St Mary’s hoping to sneak into a top 8 place. In what is set to be a bruising and hotly contested mid-table clash, Jack has had no option to drop Bob again, and bring in the man they call Tall Jeff. This is because he is tall and called Jeff, and is better than Bob. Big games mean big decisions, and Bob has to respect that.
End of Preview
Thats the preview. I am tired as I have been on tour with the Oakley faithful. I hope to hobble down to Oakley Park tomorrow to roar the ones home and slag Jack off whilst stood two feet away from the FrogBox.
See you then…oh and don’t forget, if you have any cricket gear not required, we need as much as possible for the ladies taster day on Sunday.
Go well my merry men.
