Well, we had some fantastic weather for the second training session of the new season but will it last for the first pre-season friendlies of 2018?
Probably not.
However, with various members once again giving up a bit of spare time to do a bit of groundwork this week, we are as prepared as we can be for the weekend friendly fixtures against local teams, Ashford Hill and Herriard.
The teams are as follows:
Saturday v Ashford Hill
Dique (C) Sumner, Savage, M Wood, Welsman, Warner, Bennett, Tiley, Compton-Bearne, R Wood, McCewan
Sunday v Herriard
G Lethaby (C) Brundle, B Lethaby, J King, O Rabley, Dimond, Barnes, B King, Bennett, Sumner, Compton-Bearne.
*Please note that Brad, Ian and Dan are playing on Sunday due to low availability. If anyone has been left out unwittingly, please contact the club phone.
As these are friendlies, the captains have a free reign to chop and change orders and bowling with the view to getting all players a chance to get a bit of cricket in before the season that starts on the 5th May.
