Oakley CC had our awards evening on Saturday and there was a healthy attendance to celebrate the successes of the season as well as a light-hearted look back at the up and downs of 2016.

Also, we had two videos looking back at the season at Oakley, one produced by the Chairman which could be regarded as nostalgic whilst the other is perhaps a bit more fun-poking and produced by Alex Brundle, so you know what is coming.
Feel free to view both videos but do be aware that Alex’s does contain the occasional bit of colourful language used in jest, so please do not view this if you might be offended.
Once again, a huge thank you to those who made the effort to come along on Saturday, we are trying to build the club gradually and the slowly increasing popularity of the awards evenings are demonstrating that we are taking the right steps to secure the future of cricket at Oakley Park.
It was like preaching to the converted at times but I think we are slowly beginning to make members aware of how much effort it takes to keep the Oakley show on the road. However, if you have not quite got there yet, in the words of Clive Welsman, ‘Get on the Bus.’
