The Two’s endured a horrible afternoon after taking early control against Easton and Martyr at a hot and steamy Oakley Park on Saturday.
With Perry King on great form, taking three early wickets as well as another for George Lethaby, Easton were reeling at 40-4.
However, when their number 5 was dropped on 12, the game turned and along with his assured looking partner, a 200 hundred partnership arose and put the Oaks firmly on the back foot.
There is no such thing as a bad century, especially from a 16 year-old, but the fact is that the Oaks gave their centurion more lives than a cat as he plundered 122, before being caught in the last over of the Easton innings.
Wickets went to Perry King (3) George Lethaby (2) and Raj Niranjan (1) with Easton amassing 239.
Steve Savage and Jack Brundle got off to a decent start but when Jack was out for 11, the collapse began, with George (8) Raj (7) and Steve Savage (15) all back in the hutch to allow a middle-order collapse featuring more ducks than a medieval Christmas banquet.
Two goldens, two silvers and a bronze, made the batting card look more like a successful day at the Olympics rather than a game of cricket, with only 10 from Brett King offering Brad Compton-Bearne the opportunity to reach 27 not-out.

All in all it was a crushing defeat where chances were missed and spirits were left low as the Oaks wilted in the heat and lost control of a match they could have easily won. However, with no recognised middle order or tail-end batsmen, it was always going to hard work.
Best to move on and forget it as quickly as possible.
