The first 11 put their recent bad run behind them with a thumping win against Medstead at a cool and cloudy Oakley Park.
Bowling first, the Oaks were all over the Medstead attack with Clive Welsman playing the part of a bowling scrooge as the others picked up wickets at the other end.
The excellent Jimmy Bright (3) Alex Brundle (2) Dan Sumner (3) and Gerry Dique (1) took the wickets but Clive’s 0-9-10 was outstanding as Medstead were skittled for 81.
Bright Day: Jimmy picked up 3 wickets
Gerry Dique (42 not-out) Dan Sumner (20) and Scotty Bright (15 not-out) finished the job for the Oaks who were relieved to register a win that will pull them away from trouble.
The boys will know they have to build on this victory but a positive performance will go a long way to helping to produce a better run of results.
Special thanks to Gordon Scott for helping to get the game going ahead as after a week of downpours, the conditions were not ideal.
Up the Oaks!
