Oaks Trounce Farley!

Because I had the misfortune of spending the week in Turkey with three women, I was unable to compile a match report last week.
However, fear not as the irrepressible Adam Robinson stood in, not only as captain but also as a man of literacy genius…Is a ton every week not enough for his peoples poet?
So strap yourselves in….Here is the report from Sat!
Was overcast and extremely humid, Lost toss, and was put into bat on a wet green deck.
Jules and Adam put on another 50 run partnership, Adam punishing anything loose from the bowling, before Jules lobbed one to backward square leg for 5. S Bright came to the crease and didn’t hold back attacking the bowling from ball 1 before falling just after drinks. This led to Mozza coming to the crease and after a steady start came the most unlucky dismissal for Adam. Mozza smashed a long hop straight back to the bowler who dropped the ball onto the stumps with Robinson out of his crease. Sending him back to the pavilion for 102. Mozza carried on and scored a well deserved 43 NO with Sam H and Tom H also coming to the party smashing some boundaries. Oaks 224/6
J Bright and T Holbrook started as they always do, bowling tight lines. J Bright then got the wicket we needed helped by a brilliant catch from Mozza to remove the opener. Bright then picked up another shortly afterwards which out the oaks very much in control. T Holbrook was unlucky not to have a wicket to his name as a catch went down unfortunately in the slips. Meanwhile Farleys skipper was at the crease and was batting really well hitting the bad balls for 4 until the mighty big lad Paul Potts (Mark Potter) came on and with a brilliant instinctive catch at first slip my Ginger Bown the momentum was very much with the oaks. The wickets kept tumbling with D Sumner bowling well and picking up a couple but the stand out figures were Paul Potts 5/19. Ensuring the hosts were bowled out for 122. Max Points!
A beautiful piece by Adam, full of such emotion it had me weeping tears of joy from my balcony!
